It was recently reported that the data, which supports the largely accepted notion — amongst leading scientists — that the world is warming, has been manipulated. Paul Homewood, a self-acclaimed climate change skeptic, checked the published temperature graphs against the originally recorded temperatures from three weather stations in Paraguay. And the results were utterly shocking. The trend of 60 years of data was dramatically reversed from what was originally a cooling trend, to a significant warming trend. Homewood originally reported the data manipulation on his personal blog, Notalotofpeopleknowthat.

His interest piqued by his shocking discovery, Homewood continued to analyze published temperature graphs against originally reported surface temperature data from several weather stations in South America. Again, he found the same type of "suspicious one-way adjustments" in each case. Said adjustments were reportedly made, initially, by the US government's Global Historical Climate Network (GHCN) and then magnified by the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (Giss) and the National Climate Date Center (NCDC). These are the records on which leading scientists, politicians and climate change advocates base their belief in "global warming." Homewood has since found similar data manipulations between the temperature graphs and original records from much of the Arctic, Canada and Siberia.

Homewood is not the first 'skeptic' to find such "adjustments" between original surface temperature records and the published temperature graphs. Statistician, Steven McIntyre, exposed similar data manipulation tactics when he discovered a climate-change paper published by James Hansen, who ran Giss for many years. Hansen's original graph indicated that the temperatures in the Arctic were at all-time highs around 1940 but Hansen manipulated the data to indicate the opposite — hence global warming. Officially (manipulated) published temperature graphs now indicate 'actual temperatures' were so much lower that the last 20 years look incomparably warm. McIntyre conveniently pointed out that the actual recorded surface temperatures were near all-time highs around 1940, not incredibly cold. Incredibly, dew data actually shows that the "vanishing" of polar ice is not the result of global warming after all.

This is a sad day for science. Largely heralded as the most effective method to acquiring truth and advancing society, science requires strict adherence to a code of ethics to meet such lofty expectations. If this story is true, that code of ethics has simply been obliterated and strikes at the very core of the fidelity of the scientific method.

The Obama Administration has claimed climate change poses such an incredible threat to the future of humanity that all nations should respond promptly to "the greatest challenge of our generation." Instead, could this generation be a witness to the "greatest scientific scandal of our time?" Sharyl Attkisson recently published a Ted Talk that relates directly to this potentially powerful scandal. She claims information that does not meet the agenda of politicians, Wall Street, and corporations is systemically suppressed and dismissed as non-sensical. Sound familiar?
