Boko Haram reportedly forced 97 men and boys, from a remote north-east village in Nigeria, into vehicles and drove off. The abductions come 4 months after 200 school girls were captured from the village of Chibok. Some locals believe the men and boys were captured to be forced into fighting alongside Boko Haram in the future.

Eyewitnesses claim the militants were dressed in both military and police uniforms. The militants burned several houses during the raid and reportedly left only girls and women in the small village. During the raid, the militants shouted 'Allah Akbar' between gun shots and threats aimed at anyone choosing to disobey their commands. Six older men were killed and another five were injured during the raid.
